What is Reiki?

Reiki, (pronounced ray key) is a sacred and ancient Tibetan healing art that was redisovered in Japan during the 19th century. The word Reiki, translated from Japanese is two parts, Rei meaning universal and Ki meaning energy. Reiki is not faith healing. It is not massage therapy. It is not psychic healing. It is not based in any religion or dogma. Reiki is a Holistic approach. Its energy works in concert with all other forms of therapy. It is an excellent compliment to other forms of therapy, and it is recommended that you do not discontinue any medications or treatments that your medical practitioner has prescribed for you. Reiki is a simple yet powerful healing art! Wellness is the goal!

How does Reiki work?

Working as a support mechanism to the body, Reiki re-establishes a normal energy flow of ki (life force energy) throughout the system, which in turn can enhance and accelerate the body's innate healing ability. Through a series of hand positions either directly on or just above the body, the energy worker allows for the flow of energy through their body. The clients body then draws off the amount of energy that is required. The simplicity of a Reiki session may raise some skepticism, however, most clients will return for more of those deeply relaxing feelings. Even those who find it hard to let go and relax are impressed with its effects.
Reiki is simple and produces measurable results. It is power, light and love
